In 1967 Dr Phillip Wood found his son Ronald 'parking' with a local farm girl. He housed bound the boy and on the first Sunday went to church with his wife having chained by the wrist his son in the basement. The family lived on Jarrettsville Pike and later when Dr Wood and his wife returned they found house on fire. There was no sign of Ronald only the chard remains of his hand still attached to the chain. Ever since there have been rumours of couples courting in the Loch Raven area being accosted by a shadowy figure with a hook for a hand.
